Transform Birth Experiences Through Education
The North Carolina Perinatal Association (NCPA) Lamaze Childbirth Educator (CBE) Program is perfect for anyone interested in a career that makes a significant impact in improving the perinatal health literacy of pregnant women and their families. Childbirth education enhances shared decision-making, which helps pregnant and postpartum women collaborate with their health care team in making the best decisions for their care as well as feeling heard by their provider.
The program will boost your perinatal health knowledge with the latest evidence-based information and demonstrate the use of interactive teaching strategies to build your confidence to teach your own classes.
It offers multiple training formats, providing training paths that meet various learning preferences. Interested participants can choose to take an in-person OR virtual seminar.

Seminar registration closes 30 days prior to seminar date.
General Registration Fee: $450
NC Local Health Department Registration Fee: $350
Registration Policies
Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel your registration:
- Rescheduling: Transfer to any future seminar date at no additional cost
- Substitution: Send a replacement participant at no charge
- Refunds for cancellations 2+ weeks before seminar: Full refund minus expenses incurred and a $50 administrative fee
- Cancellations less than 2 weeks before seminar: No refund provided; credit issued for a future seminar
Program Cancellation Policy
- Low enrollment: We reserve the right to cancel seminars with fewer than 6 registered participants. All fees will be fully refunded.
Inclement weather: Seminars will be rescheduled as quickly as possible following any weather-related cancellations. Your registration will automatically transfer to the new date.
